John Drury Rat­cliff (1903–1973) was known as “the most suc­cess­ful free­lance mag­a­zine writer of his gen­er­a­tion.” Wrote for Read­er’s Digest, Time, Newsweek, etc. Joined NASW (Nation­al Asso­ci­a­tion of Sci­ence Writ­ers) in 1945.
