Moncla and Wilson

On November 23, 1953, an F‑89C “Scorpion” piloted by USAF 1st Lt. Felix E. Moncla, Jr. and 2nd Lt. Robert L. Wilson, disappeared over Lake Superior while in pursuit of an unidentified flying object. Witnesses and radar suggest that the F‑89 “merged” with the UFO and disappeared over the lake, approxmiately 100 miles from Sault Sainte Marie and 70 miles from Keweenaw Point. Lts. Moncla and Wilson, and their craft, have never been found. [case history]
